Who I married, and when I married her was the best decision I've ever made.

That decision, made fifty years ago, is still true.

Desperation

1 min read

So, I lost my NIKON D3300 (as stated before). While I'm playing with my 13yo Olympus, and my son's 15yo(?) D90, I found my even older (40+?) Vivitar V3000s 35mm (think Pentax K1000 clone) film camera. No, I don't know how to develop my own film (and yes, it is B&W), and I'm hoping I can still get the film developed locally. Let's see what comes out ...

Back again!

1 min read

Finally back from a 3-week Mediterranean cruise!

Unfortunately, not as many photographs as I'd have wanted. On the first day in Barcelona *Spain*, I lost by trusty Nikon D3300 (Lost? Hell, I left it in the taxi going to Parc Güell). "Fortunately," I hadn't started taking photos then, so no photos were lost. For the rest of the trip, it was telephone camera photos, some of which came out nice!

Now, to go through the watch list to see what I've missed...

I will admit, the obvious sometimes escapes me.

For a long time, I've been trying to figure out how to create a pose preset in DAZ that will position my figure/object, prop at a specific location, other than the default 0, 0, 0  origin point.  Other people have done it; why can't I?  There are a multitude of props - buildings, landscapes, etc - where you want to place your character someplace specific, but lo and behold, unless the creator has included the "go to" poses, you're stuck with your character spawning at the origin, and then you have to move it into position.

So, today, I had an explosive efflux of cranial gas and the image of that invisible object that one can create suddenly flashed!  "Create a null object!" I thought.  "Why, if I can move it around like a 'real' object, why not move it into my desired position and create a pose preset, checking only the x,y,z translations!"

Of course, it's so simple, that it works for me!

I've found this useful script at renderosity.com

www.renderosity.com/mod/freest…

From the Product Notes:

Three scripts to adjust G3F Poses on G8F. Apply a G3F pose to G8F, then, with G8F still selected, run one of these scripts and it will adjust G8F's pose to correct for the difference in G3F's zero T pose and G8F's zero A pose, making G8F adopt the same pose G3F would on using that G3F pose. For normal use, using normal G3F poses on G8F, use 'G3F G8F Pose Adjust - Full', which will adjust both arms and legs. The other two scripts are 'G3F G8F Pose Adjust - Arms', which will only correct the arms, for use after using a G3F upper body or arms only partial pose on G8F; and 'G3F G8F Pose Adjust - Legs', which will only correct the legs, for after using a G3F lower body or legs only partial pose on G8F.

There's only the 3 scripts in the zip file, no FAQs, ReadMes, icons or anything. Unzip and put somewhere in your DAZ Studio My Library (Scripts folder is obvious, but can be anywhere you want). For easy use, use Create Custom Action on the scripts so they'll be in the Scripts menu

I've had no problems in posing G8F in G3F poses.. have not tested for G2F poses...  :)
